About
Hilton Head's IrishFest is a celebration happening March 15th, 2026, marking the 40th anniversary of South Carolina's oldest St. Patrick's Day parade. The festivities kick off Saturday with a free concert and culminate Sunday with the main parade event. It's the island's way of welcoming spring, and trust me, locals and visitors alike go all out with the green attire and Irish spirit!
Location
The Parade Route – Starts at Lowcountry Celebration Park/Coligny Beach Park area and turns left onto Pope Avenue. From Pope Avenue, the route will turn left onto Office Park Drive and end at the Courtyard Building/Park Plaza. The route winds through the heart of Hilton Head's popular shopping and dining district, making it easy to grab a bite before or after the festivities.
Nearby, you'll find Coligny Beach Park and Lowcountry Celebration Park, both offering beautiful spots to extend your day with some beach time or family activities. The area is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and other attractions, so you can easily make a full day of your visit.
Tickets & Pricing
Here's the best part - IrishFest is completely FREE to attend. Just show up and join the fun! Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the venue, but the entertainment itself won't cost you a dime.
Unique Features
What makes IrishFest special? Let me tell you about our favorite parts:
- The parade includes high school marching bands, university performers, the U.S. Marine Corps Band from Parris Island, and multiple pipe and drum bands from across the country.
- Look out for the creative floats competing for awards like the Grand Marshal Award and Irish Heritage Award.
- The Breeze Trolley offers convenient one-way trips from USCB Hilton Head to near Lowcountry Celebration Park from 11am-2pm on parade day.
- With upwards of 25,000 spectators in a town of only 40,000 permanent residents, the community atmosphere is incredible - everyone's Irish for the day!
Pro tip: Arrive early to secure a good viewing spot along Pope Avenue. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfort, and consider using the trolley service to avoid parking hassles. The parade starts at 2pm sharp (earlier than previous years), so don't be late!
